Andriessen's La Commedia will be available in DVD and CD!

A cause for celebration: Louis Andriessen's La Commediamultimedia opera in five parts, has been at the top of my list of operas which need DVD or CD recordings since 2010. Well, my prayer has been answered: Nonesuch will release a CD/DVD combo on 10 June 2014.

If you are curious about what's now at the top of my wish list of new opera recordings, the answer:
As an added bonus, in view of last year's SACD release of Brett Dean's Lost Art of Letter Writing for violin and orchestra (2006), my "Grawemeyer Collection" -- recordings of winners of the Grawemeyer Award for Music Composition -- will be complete at last! -- Well, until the announcement of 2015 Grawemeyer award at the end of the year, that is.

Update: Unfortunately, the DVD in the package has no subtitles, which is only available as PDF file download from Nonesuch's website. What is Nonesuch thinking? Am I supposed to be able to understand Latin and Dutch? Or watching computer monitor and TV screen at the same time?
